Gaming on the 2017 iMac i5 8GB Radeon Pro 580 – Part 2 [feat. Crysis 3, Witcher 3, Evil Within 2]

Second video to show how old and recent video games run on the latest 27″ iMac with the 8GB Radeon Pro 580. This time I tested Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, Deadlight, Far Cry 4, the Witcher 3 and the Evil Within 2. Have a look at this video if you are thinking about gaming on an iMac.

Please tell me which build number of Windows and which driver do you use from "bootcampdrivers" version of the driver?

  • Beside GPU, Apple should implement AMD CPU. Their 32core monster is something else. I just order a prebuilt gaming monster: AMD 2700x 8cores/16threads, 16gb ddr4, 48gb SSD, 2tb HDD, RTX 2080ti for $1,970. Considering the RTX 2080ti $1,200 msrp, this is a heck of a bargain. Can't wait to roam around white orchard, toussaint, skellidge @ 4k maxout and enjoy the incredible scenic and soundtrack.

  • Hey Pierre. Do you have an idea if there would be visible difference between your model and mine iMac station, which have implemented Radeon 570 and 3,4Ghz Core Power? I mean frames dropping? I presume u did compare specs before purchasing ? 🙂

  • Good day, Pierre. I have been looking for a review like this for a long time. I'm planning to buy the same configuration mainly for Dota 2 gaming @ 5k it's a free game from steam, I hope to see it on your part 3 video. I am your new subscriber. Cheers mate!

One question: Does the 2tb fusion drive model do well after you install windows 10? does it perform like a 128gb ssd seperately? I mean install all favorite programs on ssd when using windows 10.

  • Thanks for the video! Are you using a stock 2 TB Fusion Drive? Did you boost RAM?

  • Are you using bootcamp?

  • Helpful. Just got the same iMac after watching your first video. Actually, for me, 40fps is enough for most games so sometimes I ran games with ultra under 2K display and they work well. Even some games with high quality under 4K and 5K display and still achieve a reasonable FPS.
